Despite the fact that the Gotal emissary, Nathanjo Nirrelz, was saved, the Jedi received much criticism for their actions on Atzerri, especially from the Gotal Foreign Affairs Commune, which claimed the Jedi's involvement was never requested. However, Jedi Master Shaak Ti responded to the criticisms by stressing that the Sarrissa Jeng and the Jedi did everything possible to resolve the crisis peacefully. Sadly, the incident on Atzerri was just a drop in the bucket of conflicts that threatened to plunge the galaxy into war.

The straw that broke the ronto's back came at the Battle of Geonosis where a Jedi task force of two hundred Knights battled against Count Dooku and his army of battle droids. The task force was led by Mace Windu and Sarrissa Jeng was one of the Jedi to accompany the Jedi Master to Geonosis. Had the Jedi been successful in stopping Dooku and his droid army on Geonosis, the Clone Wars might never have begun. Unfortunately, the machinations of the Sith ran too deep, and despite their best efforts the Jedi could not stop the onset of war. Scores of Jedi died on Geonosis that day, and Sarrissa Jeng was one of the many that became one with the Force.
